Pastor Wendy Richter

Rev. Wendy K. Richter currently serves as co-pastor with her husband, the Rev. Craig D. Richter for our congregation.  Pastor Wendy specifically works with and oversees the contemporary worship, all education, service and fellowship (birth-adult) ministries at All Shepherds.

Pastor Wendy was born and raised in Clarksburg, West Virginia to John and Diana Knoll.  She was baptized at St. Mark's Lutheran Church in Clarksburg on Dec. 26, 1976 and affirmed her faith in June of 1990.  She has a younger brother, who currently lives in Louisiana as a music professor for Southern University.  Pastor Wendy graduated from Washington Irving High School in May of 1994.

In May of 1998, Pastor Wendy received a Bachelor of Arts degree from Roanoke College in Salem, Virginia in International Relations and Spanish with a minor in Education.  Pastor Wendy has always had a deep passion for teaching.  Upon graduating from Roanoke she began student teaching and worked as a Head Start teacher in Lovingston, Virginia.  It was there that she realized that not only did she love to teach but she loved to share the gospel.  Her call to ministry was not to teach in public schools but in the church.

After much discernment, she entered Trinity Lutheran Seminary in the summer of 1999 and graduated from there with her Masters of Divinity in June of 2004.   During this time, she served at Faith Lutheran Church in Flower Mound, Texas for a 2 year internship and married Craig on August, 9, 2003.  Pastor Wendy was ordained on June 6, 2004.  Both her and Pastor Craig served their first 8 years of ministry in the Mountain Lutheran Parish.  This parish had 5 congregations in Pendleton and Pocahontas Counties of West Virginia.

In August of 2012, they had the opportunity to serve in one congregation and feel very blessed to be called as co-pastors to our congregation of All Shepherds.  Pastors Craig and Wendy have 3 children.  Pastor Wendy loves sharing and teaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ and connecting our families to our Lord.  In her extra time, she loves spending time with her family, hiking, taking photos, swimming and reading mystery novels.
