Family Promise is a nonprofit organization committed to helping low-income families achieve lasting independence.
The problem of poverty is complex. It won't yield to a simple solution or a quick fix. It requires an integrated approach that begins with meeting immediate needs but reaches much further to help people achieve independence and to alleviate the root causes of poverty.

  • Meals/sleeping will be taken care of by the churches
  • Day Center will take care of showers, wash, transportation and finding jobs and housing for the family unit.

Independence Day

Tomorrow we celebrate the signing of the Declaration of Independence which formally established our country in 1776 and separated us from the rule of Great Britain.  Since that time we have been learning what it means to live as a free people under the rule of law.  Freedom carries with it a huge weight of responsibility.  We are a nation of diversity, religiously, ethnically, socially, occupationally, ideologically, economically, etc.  Our diversity is our strength, if we can tolerate, accept, and affirm our differences.  Where we can't injustice, prejudice, and human sin divide.  As we are again reminded of the privilege we share living in this country, I pray that our unity in diversity will empower us to journey together faithfully.
